Emotions come in pairs

Emotions come in pairs

It's a big step to start recognising and acknowledging that our lives, up to a certain point, are defined by all kinds of opposites:

day & night

yes & no

confirming & denying

Ever so often a pair of emotions gets split up between two partners.

Then one of them connects to day - one to night.

One says "yes" - and the other says "no".

One is into confirming - the other into denying.

And off we go ...

This is the recipe to feel that we are incompatible as partners. Endless loops of relentless struggles are born from this polarization.

We can take a step back and start to understand that on the level of our material life

that is composed of our physical body -

our emotions

and our mind -

things show up in pairs.

This allows us to expand our perception beyond duality.

We can start to see how life invites us to embrace the whole pair and find

day & night

yes & no

confirming & denying

inside of ourselves.

If I always say "yes" - where is my "no"?

If I always say "no" - where is my "yes"?

Whatever we find in our partner and not in ourselves is an invitation to curiously search for the missing part of the pair.

Life wants us to be complete and will send us pointers (that we might well perceive as problems) to draw our attention to the imbalance inside of ourselves

so that we can bring love to the places we're not yet loving
